Companies should be ranked by its “Disorganization”

We have at some point visited or heard about the Fortune 500 or Best employers to work for. The Most admired companies, CEO awards and so on to name a few.

I would like to highlight that various networks do not rank those very companies in terms of their own disorganization. We understand the term “organization” from the aspect of keeping things in order. The arranging for a particular purpose or for the business perspective an organized body of people. Likewise, there is very little light shed on the organized body of people who are “the root cause” of this disorganization.

The outcome of disorganization

Let us delve deeper on what this disorganization stands for and the outcome.

When a decision has been made by the respective stakeholders for the organization to exist and be formed, an incorporator will complete required formalities to receive the Certificate of Incorporation. The approved business documents as per the governing regulations of its jurisdiction.

During this time, the initial directors will decide on the path forward to ensure the business fulfills the requirements as per the stakeholders and achieves its vision, mission, goals and purpose. At this stage we have a functioning company that has to follow guidelines from both internal (the employees and the stakeholders) and external (local policies and laws).

The fundamentals

I find it interesting that despite all the fundamentals in place such as: committees, by-laws, policies, procedures, standards, memberships that companies do not follow. We must highlight and make aware that “disorganization” is not considered the norm of business.

We will take an example of this so called disorganization and use “Disorganized2020” an anonymous company that specializes in the aerospace sector and also supports various other subsidiaries and products. Some background on Disorganized2020, for this company to operate and function it must meet the required regulatory standards to ensure the products and services fulfill the highest standards without any compromise to the quality and end result. The company has been in business for the last five decades and has an experienced workforce.

Individuals and companies have become delinquent in performing their duties

It has become clear that the human resources, board or directors, CEO have become delinquent in performing their duties. Performing one’s tasks to the best of their abilities in a rationale manner. Acting in good faith and always doing what’s right. Those very duties have become misleading. Meanwhile this leads to management turning a blind eye to those core concerns. They are keen to protect their own interest.

First, I want to shed some light on (H.R) human resources and staffing. This pandemic has been an eye opener for people all around the world. There have been many who have faced difficult employment circumstances and human resources were not there when needed. Human resources are taught before they become professionals, to be considerate, understanding and accommodating. We need to ensure required policies and procedures are adhered and actionable. From the bottom of the pay scale all the way to the top. Secondly, the reality is the human resources seems to be more concerned on picking up the pieces. The junior or entry level personnel are simply turned away and their only hope is the senior staff. This creates a dynamo effect which only encourages and fosters negative energy in the company. In conclusion, this ultimately leads to the end result “disorganization”.

Do companies follow their policies?

We have seen it happen, with countless companies involved in scams, controversy, playing politics and bureaucracy. This is despite those very policies, procedures, trainings and meetings created by H.R. It makes us wonder, the purpose of not upholding the required values, mission, vision, and purpose of the company. Moreover, what is the ultimate goal and what is the purpose? That is a tough question to ask and equally to digest.
